Judy Hill - Business Owner

I have been operating my bookkeeping business for the past 19 years.

My whole working life I have worked in the area of finance administration and payroll.

Up to July 2012 this was with different employers & I maintained a small base of bookkeeping clients outside of that from 2004.

In July 2012 I left my last employer to focus full time on my own bookkeeping business.

I would describe myself as a “super nerd” and pride myself in getting it right for the client. I have been a registered BAS agent with the Tax Practitioners’ Board since March 2010 (Registered BAS agent number 26108105).

I have the required bookkeeping qualification of Certificate IV in Financial Services (Accounting) and in 2013 I successfully completed my Diploma of Accounting.

The past few years have seen a lot of growth and I now lead a team of 5 who are all amazing at what they do.

We enjoy working with a variety of businesses and assure each client full focus on their bookwork while we are working for them.

These days I try to be a bit less "hands on" and more of a mentor to my team.

I will generally set up a new client and then hand the work over to one of my capable team however I am always in the background for support for both my team members and our clients.

I also need to manage my own growing business!

J Hill Books is fully insured in accordance with BAS agent requirements.
Judy is a member of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB) & the Institute of Practising Accountants (IPA).
Judy is a Pure Bookkeeping licensee and has been since 2021. This provides myself and my team with a myriad of resources, training. checklists and templates so we are all working in a consistent manner no matter who is working on a client file.

Nicole

Nicole has a Bachelor of Business in Marketing and Retail Management and was previously a buyer for Target and a marketing and administration manager in her career pre children.

Since having a family, Nicole has been bookkeeping for a local fencing business and has been been working for J Hill Books for the past 10 years on various clients encompassing most aspects of bookkeeping within Xero, Microkeeper, Dext and Quickbooks Online.

Outside of work Nicole enjoys time with family and friends and exploring gins.

Jess

Jess has recently completed her certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping and is working toward her BAS Agent Registration whilst working with J Hill Books.
Jess has worked in admin for the last 8 years and has plenty of experience with Xero, Quickbooks, Dext, Microkeeper and Reckon!

Jess is Xero Advisor Certified including Xero Payroll Certified.
Outside of work, Jess loves to spend time with her husband, 2 young daughters and her two dogs!

Rachel

Rachel is currently completing a Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping with J Hill Books.

Rachel manages the bookkeeping for her husband's business and previously worked within Admin and Payroll for 4 years.

Outside of work, Rachel enjoys spending her time reading, living in the country and loves her animals.

Jenny

Jenny has recently decided to change career paths after many years working in the retail industry in Merchandise Planning.
Jenny loves numbers, so thought bookkeeping would be a good fit and satisfy her nerdy side.
When not working, Jenny loves to spend time with her grandchildren or can be found in the kitchen baking and decorating cakes, which satisfies Jenny's desire for creativity.

Joe

Joe is just about to complete his Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting at Deakin University in Geelong.

Joe is gaining valuable practical work experience using Xero, Dext, Microkeeper & Karbon through his work with J Hill Books.

Joe also works in hospitality which he enjoys.

Outside of work and university Joe plays and coaches at South Barwon Cricket Club and likes to watch his favourite NBA team the Boston Celtics as often as possible.
